KARL JURMAN, music director, arranger, conductor and pianist, is presently conducting the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Lion King, where he has worked since its inception in 1996. Some of his other Broadway conducting assignments have included Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, The Will Rodgers Follies and Into the Woods.
PATRICIA NORTHRUP, Miss California 1992, is an overseas pilot for America Airlines and a Captain in the Air Force. She flies for the California Air National Guard and participated in Operation Joint Forge in Kosovo the past two years. Patricia used her local and state Miss America scholarships to attend college and the nation's top flight school, where she received numerous awards, including the top honor of Commander's Trophy, Distinguished Graduate Award, and the Flying Training Award in 1997.
JOHN H. DALTON served as Secretary of the Navy from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that appointment he spent more than a decade presiding over and managing various financial institutions. In the late 70s he was appointed by President Carter to serve as President of the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae).
LEE MERIWETHER, Miss America 1955, is perhaps best known as "Betty" in the highly successful TV series Barnaby Jones, where she co-starred with Buddy Ebson for eight years. She also played Ruth Martin on All My Children and Catwoman in the original Batman movie. Some of her other films include Angel in My Pocket; The Undefeated; Namu, the Killer Whale and The Legend of Lylah Clare.
SANFORD L. FOX is the CEO of Executive Search Group, a national recruiting firm based in Philadelphia. He is a nationally recognized recruiting expert and has appeared on NBC's Today Show. In addition, Mr. Fox is frequently sought by the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and other leading publications.
JANET LANGHART COHEN will serve her fourth term as a judge for the Miss America Competition. She is the "First Lady of the USO" (United Services Organization) and her mission is to help enhance the quality of life for our military and their families. She is a former journalist for ABC, CBS and NBC and is married to former Secretary of Defense, William S. Cohen.
