1984 B

Suzette Charles
Mays Landing, New Jersey

Suzette delighted her home-state fans in the audience as the talent winner representing New Jersey in The Miss America Pageant of 1984, and as everyone was quick to see, her performing career was very well established already. Even as a youngster, Suzette was a dedicated and accomplished performer, having appeared in various commercials and educational TV programs. After Suzette's service as Miss America 1984, she continued her successful singing career. Suzette has appeared in superstar theaters with performers such as Stevie Wonder, Alan King, Joel Grey, Lou Rawls, and the list goes on! Her pop singing career has taken her around the world from Jamaica to Monte Carlo. Wed to ophthalmologist and plastic surgeon, Leonard Bley of New York, Suzette is also the proud mother of young daughter, Hannah, and son Ilan. She says her motherhood role, "has turned the entertainer in me into a wonderful wife and mother. It is such a rewarding profession."
